Paweł Łabaj

Bioinformatician & researcher in (meta)genomics, data science and personalized preventive medicine

Dr hab. inż. Paweł P. Łabaj, prof. UJ is a leading bioinformatician working at the intersection of (meta)genomics, data science and personalized preventive medicine. He holds a professorship at the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology (MCB), Jagiellonian University, and is the scientific force behind onebiome.

His career centers on high-throughput sequencing and rigorous data quality control. Through the international MAQC/SEQC Consortium, he has helped set global benchmarks for next-generation sequencing technologies - a foundation of precision and reproducibility he brings to health data.

He uses advanced bioinformatics to cut through the marketing noise in the longevity market, decoding how microbial synergies genuinely shape human healthspan - turning massive datasets into insight on patient stratification, population-specific microbiota profiling, and how lifestyle stressors disrupt our inner ecosystem. He is also active in the MetaSUB Consortium.

At ELEVATE, Paweł will present an evidence-based, myth-challenging look at the microbiome, showing how reproducible science and individualized metagenomic sequencing can unlock its real potential as a blueprint for extending healthspan.
