Katarzyna Zgutka
Doctor of Medical Sciences, healthy longevity expert
Katarzyna Zgutka, PhD, is a physiologist, aging researcher and longevity educator at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, Poland, where she works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology. She earned her doctorate in medical biology at PUM and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Stem Cells Institute, University of Louisville, USA.
For more than 20 years she has taught physiology, with the last three years focused on the physiology of aging and healthy longevity. Her research centers on the pathophysiology and biological mechanisms of aging and on biomarkers of biological age. She is the author of 72 publications - 48 with an impact factor (total IF: 135.119) - and 18 conference abstracts presented at national and international meetings, and is a recipient of the Szczecin Scientific Society's Amicus Scientiae et Veritatis Medal.
Alongside her research and teaching, Dr Zgutka is active in science communication. As Deputy Project Manager of the 'Modern Ageing' project, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the European Funds for Western Pomerania programme, she designs and delivers interactive, evidence-based workshops on aging tailored to audiences from children to seniors.
At ELEVATE, Katarzyna will lead the Aging Experience Lab - a hands-on session to measure, feel and understand the process of aging.
